Bulkley Valley Education Connection is an online learning school run by School District 54 (Bulkley Valley) for parents and students who are seeking an alternative to classroom based instruction for kindergarten to Grade 12 students. Teachers will work with parents and students to design a program suited to each individual student. Students may enroll full-time or part-time or they may combine an online learning program with classroom-based instruction.
Our program is delivered through Smithers Secondary School and Walnut Park Elementary School, which allows for face to face opportunities with the program teachers.
Because we are a small school, we can provide a customized program that meets the need of every student and we pride ourselves on being available for students and families to create individualized Student Learning Plans. If a desired course is not available through our program, we will help students find a course through a Provincial Online Learning school or create a customized project based approach with the student.

Homeschooling is an educational program provided to a child by a parent, not under the supervision or direction of a BC certified teacher or Letter of Permission holder employed by a Board or Authority. Homeschooling is not the same as online learning. Online learning programs or courses are taught by BC certified teachers or Letter of Permission holders who are certified by the Ministry of Education and employed by a Board or Authority.
